Canister Vacuums for Carpets

Vacuuming carpets can be accomplished by both upright and canister vacuum cleaners. While traditionally upright vacuum cleaners have been viewed as best for carpets because of their beater bar action which agitates the carpet fibers- and hence seen as more powerful, we actually think that is a misconception. In fact canister vacuums with a separate power head are actually more powerful because they utilize two separate motors. This is why we recommend a canister vacuum as an excellent choice if you have thick pile carpets.
