Eliminates Bacteria: By destroying the DNA in bacteria, the UV light sanitizes your toothbrush and gets rid of microorganisms and kills salmonella and E.coli.
Effectiveness: Uses the same germicidal technology (UV) as hospitals and dental offices to kill micro-organisms.
Safety feature and UL listed: Our testing team particularly liked that the sanitizer holder unit will not turn on unless the cap is locked into place, because you should never look directly at ultra violet light. The travel unit will not turn on until the case is closed tightly.
VIOpegs: The sanitizer holder unit includes 4 VIOpegs which easily slide in the unit to accommodate most electric toothbrush heads and shorter children’s toothbrushes.
Easy cleaning: We really liked how the reflective drip cup and VIOpegs in the holder unit can be easily removed for quick cleaning. The frosted cap is also easy to rinse. The travel unit is also easy to clean with its removable drip tray.
Auto-shut off: The holder unit will automatically shut itself off after 10 minutes saving energy and prolonging the life of the bulb. The travel sanitizer works in only 7 minutes and will turn itself off after those 7 minutes of sanitation.
Long bulb life: The UV bulb in the holder unit needs to be changed only once every 18 months under typical use. You do not have to replace the bulb in the travel unit.
Portable: The travel unit is great when you only need to keep your one toothbrush sanitized, but the holder unit is also lightweight enough to pack and bring with you on a family vacation to keep everyone’s toothbrushes germ free.
Minuses:
Although the VIOlight toothbrush sanitizer is UL listed, it still is an electrical appliance so it should not be placed close to sinks, toilets, and bathtubs.
In the deluxe travel toothbrush sanitizer, the UV bulb is partially visible which can be harmful to children.

We were very impressed with both VIOlight toothbrush sanitizers and their quick and effective sanitizing abilities. The VIOlight holder unit accommodates up to 4 toothbrushes of different brands and sizes. Its compact design means it will not take up a lot of counter space and you can bring it with you anywhere. At such an affordable price we think it provides a great value and will make a great addition to any bathroom. The VIOlight deluxe travel sanitizer is discreet, compact and excellent for those who are always on the go. One drawback is that the blue UV light is partially visible through the see-through plastic portion of the cover, and viewing this light may not be safe, especially for children. We loved how small and sleek the sanitizer is and it fits into most purses, even small ones. At 5.5 ounces, it is very light as well, so carrying around this healthy tool is no hassle. We love that the replacement bulb never has to be changed. This is perfect for anyone, especially those who travel, carry their toothbrush with them or live in a college dorm.
