We have had great success with this brand of humidifiers which are all based in ultrasonic technology. They come in a variety of tank sizes, with the larger ones being geared to run for several days without refilling. The great advantage of a pureguardian™ humidifier is that it does not need replacement wicks, or mineral cartridges; the antibacterial process is baked into the humidifier shell. In other words, the pureguardian™ humidifier does not cost anything in the way of replacement parts. We would not recommend them for hard water areas because of the possibility of mineral dust, except if you are willing to use distilled water. We have had very few returns for pureguardian™ humidifiers and they seem to be unusually durable.
