Preparing your SF-275 Canister Steam Cleaner for storage is quick and simple. When you have finished your steaming tasks, follow these steps to properly store the steamer:
Preparing your SF-275 Canister Steam Cleaner for storage is quick and simple. When you have finished your steaming tasks, follow these steps to properly store the steamer:
- Set the ON/OFF Switch to the “OFF” position and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
- Allow the steam cleaner to cool (at least 30 minutes for complete cooling)
- Press and hold steam button to release all remaining steam pressure
- Remove all accessories from the steam cleaner
- Drain any remaining water from boiler into a sink or tub—this will help to minimize mineral build up and will prevent over-filling during your next use
- Flip the storage compartment lid open and remove the boiler cap
- Loosely place the boiler cap back on the steam cleaner and close the storage compartment lid
- For any accessories that do not fit in the storage compartment on the canister, store them safely away near the canister so they will be ready for future use
- Store the steam cleaner in a cool, dry location
FILLING THE BOILER:

- Place the canister steam cleaner on a flat, level surface
- Set the ON/OFF Switch to the “OFF” position and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
- Flip the storage compartment lid open and carefully unscrew and remove the boiler cap
- Drain any water that may have been left inside the boiler into a sink or tub
- Fill the measuring cup to the maximum fill line (16 oz. / 473 ml.) with water
- Using the water funnel, carefully pour water from the measuring cup into the boiler through the fill hole
- Depending on how long you intend to steam clean for, you may repeat the step of filling the measuring cup with 16 ounces of water up to two more times, up to a maximum of 48 oz. (1,420 ml.)
- Replace the boiler cap and make sure it is screwed on tightly to prevent hot steam from escaping, this may cause injury
- Close the storage compartment lid on the back of the canister body
STEAM CLEANING:
- For the best results, use a steady back-and-forth motion over floor surfaces, pushing the mop head away from you and then pull it back towards you. Work your way backwards over the floor to avoid walking over freshly-mopped areas
- To effectively kill bacteria and micro-organisms, repeatedly mop a single small area (approximately 3’ x 3’ for best results) for at least 2 minutes
- While you are mopping, the microfiber pad will absorb dirt and moisture. However, when you are finished, you may find that some residual moisture has been left behind. If this happens, we recommended that you give the floor enough time to air dry. You may direct a fan towards the mopped area to facilitate drying.
