Chemical and Odor Removal from Fabrics

The water should be warm enough to activate the chemicals, yet not so warm as to damage the fabric. Each person should adopt this method to meet individual needs.
- Allow the warmest water the material will tolerate to run in the washing machine to the desired level. Add one cup or more of powdered milk. Briefly agitate, then soak the material one hour or more. Allow washer to drain and spin.
- Start the washer to the beginning of the wash cycle. Fill the washer with the warmest water the material will tolerate and add one-half to one cup AFM Super Clean Concentrate. Briefly agitate, then soak the material several hours. Allow the washer to drain and spin.
- Start the washer to the beginning of the wash cycle. Fill the washer with the warmest water the material will tolerate. Add either: One cup vinegar and one cup baking soda Or: 1/3 to ½ cup Sodium Hexametaphosphate. Briefly agitate, then soak the material one hour or more. Allow the washer to drain and spin.
- Start the washer to the beginning of the wash cycle. Fill the washer with the warmest water the material will tolerate. Allow the washer to complete the cycle with agitation, drain and spin.
- Allow the washer to move to a COLD water rinse cycle. Allow the material to agitate, drain and spin.
If the material is not ‘safe’ and free of chemicals or odors, repeat the above process.
