Our conclusion after testing the YellowWing Vapor Steam Cleaner is that it is fantastic value for the budget conscious, and unlike other entry level steam cleaners, it has the advantage of the same quality tools as offered with more expensive machines. Pluses:
We were impressed with the range, quality and ease of use of the attachments at this price point. The brushes did a fine job with some of the detail work such as cleaning the corners of the kitchen sink. Attaching and detaching the accessories required minimal effort. The YellowWing at this value has a good variety of attachments that will pretty much do the job for most standard household chores.
One of the first areas to tackle in the home were the floors. There was everything from scuff marks, coffee stains and marks left from a very playful dog. The YellowWing did an impressive job with removing the stubborn stains with little to no effort. Like all steam cleaners, using some natural cleaning fluid on stubborn old stains increases its effectiveness.
The YellowWing did a great job providing effective, dry, powerful steam when sanitizing the floors, countertops and other areas. The floor was left dry almost instantly, no wetness or streaks. This is unusual to find in a machine at this price point. When dealing with ground in, chronic stains, the extra help of a natural cleaning agent was helpful, as it exponentially increases its effectiveness when coupled with steam.
The on-off trigger on the handle immediately turned off the steam from running, which was a great safety feature when using the attachments. There was no chance of accidentally leaving the steam running and potentially burning oneself.
The YellowWing and its lightweight, compact size allowed us to move effortlessly while cleaning. It has a nice, long cord and hose length compared to other steam cleaners at this price. Combine that with the long range of the extension handles and we were able to easily reach any area for cleaning.
The unit heated up quickly and was ready to use in about 12 minutes.
We were very happy to see that it had a pressure gauge, which allowed us to easily regulate the machine for optimal pressure.
We had fun cleaning!! The versatility of the machine and accessory parts allowed us to move from room to room attacking tough corners, tile grout, grime, mold and dirt build-up successfully. Yes, it’s fun to zip around the house with a bright, exciting yellow machine. But it’s even more joyous to watch the home become so fresh and clean with such ease!
Minuses:
Machine lasts for about one hour before needing cool down and refill. This is enough cleaning at a stretch for most people, but think carefully if you need several hours of continuous steam cleaning.
Towels supplied are a bit flimsy, but work well when doubled up
