The capacity of the filter cartridge may vary from the rated capacity due to volume of contaminants or sediment or amount of use. The cartridge should be replaced: annually, when the flow rate diminishes, when the rated capacity of the cartridge has been reached, when you notice a taste or odor reoccurrence, or when the Filter Life Indicator (FLI) begins blinking red.

When using the system for the first time or after a new cartridge is installed, allow the system to flush into the sink for 15 minutes. This will remove any fine, black carbon particles left over from the manufacturing process, expel trapped air and condition the cartridge for normal use.

The water supply in our office contains especially high levels of chlorine, which is certainly not pleasant to drink. You can even smell the chlorine as it comes out of the faucet! We hooked up the WaterChef water filter with the goal of improving the water quality so that it would be suitable to drink and enjoy. After much use (we love to drink our water here!), we were pleased with the results and no longer have to put up with mediocre, unhealthy drinking water

Pluses:

Includes all accessories needed to easily install onto our faucet. It was helpful that they provided 3 different adapters in case one didn't directly attach to the kitchen faucet. Installation only took a few minutes.
Features a sturdy and highly durable construction which is built-to-last.
Effectively removed high levels of chlorine taste and odor from our water supply. The activated carbon in the filter will reduce the chlorine by up to 99%.
The Filter Life Indicator takes note of each drop of water that is filtered through the cartridge and indicates when it's working properly or when it needs to be replaced. When blinking green, it was ensuring to know that it was effectively removing contaminants.
Depending on usage and the amount of contaminants present in the water supply, the filter life can last up to a year.
Spigot is conveniently built into the system - this means no additional spigots to attach or maneuver.
The diverter valve located on the faucet is a small knob that is simply pulled out when one wants to switch to filtered water. What's convenient, which we don't commonly see with other systems, is the diverter valve will automatically push in and switch to unfiltered water once the water supply is shut off. This reduces any risk of leaving it in the filtered water mode and accidentally running hot water through the filter (only cold water should be filtered through the system).

Minuses:

Is a bit bulkier than some of our other water filters but does have an aesthetically pleasing stainless steel design.
The faucet adapters aren't meant for pull-out faucets and some designer kitchen faucets.
