Pluses:
- The Bank has as sealed design and offers good HEPA exhaust filtration. Our testing results showed the exhaust filter captured 81% of dust and other particles and while the vacuum was in use the overall air quality of the room improved by 3%.
- This vacuum comes with a generous package of tools includes a power brush, combination floor brush, bare floor brush, 3-in-1 accessory tool, crevice tool, dusting brush and upholstery tool. You will have a tool for every floor type and plenty of tool options for above floor cleaning.
- Onboard tools and 3-in-1 combination tool are all conveniently stored on the vacuum for quick and easy on the go use and neat storage.
- The vacuum is easy to assemble and floor tools come off with just a push of a button and snap into place for a secure fit. Accessory tools slide on and off easily but fit securely so they do not fall off while in use.
- 3-in-1 combo tool is great for cleaning stairs and furniture and handles the cleaning jobs that are too big for the standard accessory tools.
- Variable suction adjustment is located on the canister and is easy to use. It is very helpful to be able to adjust suction power when cleaning small rugs and curtains.
- The vacuum moves easily on all floor surfaces and the hose swivels at both the handle and where it attaches to the canister which is very helpful at reducing hose kinks as you move around your house.
- Automatic cord rewind keeps the power cord nice and neat
- Dual parking positions on the canister let you tote the bare floor brush or combo floor tool around while you use the power brush and also helps for neat storage.
- Rubber coated wheels provide protection to delicate hard wood, parquet or tile flooring.
Minuses:
- Since this vacuum has so many nice features, we were kind of disappointed to find out it did not have bumper guards. You will need to take extra caution as you zoom around your house so you do not scratch or scuff your walls and furniture.
- This vacuum comes with a Euro style power brush which is designed for low to medium pile carpets and rugs. This power brush does not offer carpet height adjustment and therefore is not very easy to use or as effective for vacuuming high pile carpets and rugs.
- It is on the noisy side when used with full suction power and power brush. The suction can be turned down to reduce the noise but then you get less suction power as a trade off.
- The accessory tools are smaller than average size. The crevice nozzle gives about 3 inches of reach and the dust brush and upholstery tool are also on the small size. This however is a minor issue since the onboard 3-in-1 combination tool provides a very full natural bristle dust brush, longer crevice type tool and a wide upholstery tool with bristles.
Summary:
We feel The Bank vacuum has great potential to be a favorite among customers. It is well made and has good quality filtration. It also is generously packaged with 3 floor tools and accessory tools to cover all your cleaning needs. We found it to be easy to use and easy to maneuver around the house. It is also light enough to carry upstairs without being too much of a burden. The power head and bare floor brush are very effective at sucking up dust and dirt from the floors and are easy to interchange. We also like that the bare floor brush can be carried on the vacuum so it is with you when you need it. We question the need for the additional combination floor tool and feel the vacuum could have been packaged without it for a slightly lower price.
The dust bags are of good quality and can be sealed shut to keep all dust and dirt inside when it is time to dispose of them. They are good size bags that hold up to 4 qts (1 gallon). The vacuum also has an indicator to let you know when the bag is full which we find very helpful for efficient use of the bag. The pre-filer and exhaust filter are also easy to access and change. Replacement bags and filters are also affordable which is a plus.
Overall we think The Bank is a very versatile vacuum cleaner that comes packaged with everything needed for complete cleaning of any floor type. It has some nice valued added features like the 3-in-1 onboard combination tool, finger tip brush roll control, variable suction control and a dust bag full indicator. We would recommend this vacuum for homes with a mix of bare floors and low to medium pile carpets or area rugs. The Euro-style power head is great for smaller condos and apartments or for those who do not like the weight and bulk of a full size power brush. This vacuum is also very well made and should last for quite a few years.
