When the filter needs to be cleaned, the clean filter indicator will light up. Remove the filter and clean with warm, soapy water. Dry thoroughly before replacing the filter. Once the filter is completely dry, place the filter back in the unit and press the filter button to reset the filter indicator.

The Soleus DP1-30-03 is a small capacity, energy efficient dehumidifier suitable for a single room up to 600 square feet that is prone to excess moisture and mold growth. Also, with its compact size, durable caster wheels and top carry handle it can easily be moved from room to room.
Pluses:
Compact and lightweight design. Also features a sturdy top handle for easy movement from room to room.
Its automatic defrost keeps this unit operating efficiently in cooler temperatures down to 41°F. When frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the compressor will cycle off and the fan will continue to run until the frost disappears. When the coils are completely defrosted, the compressor will automatically restart and dehumidification will resume
Despite it's compact size, this dehumidifier is powerful enough to quickly dehumidify smaller areas due to it's strong airflow.
Equipped with a built-in digital humidistat for worry-free operation. The unit allows you to select the desired level of humidity from 35% to 80% in 5% increments. The digital readout located on the control panel will display the room humidity as well as the humidity level that was chosen. To maintain the desired humidity level in the room the built-in humidistat will cycle the dehumidifier on and off as needed.
To assist with a specific need when removing excess moisture, there are a variety of drainage options including draining straight into the removable 9.5 pint bucket, attaching a continuous drainage hose or by hooking up an optional condensate pump (sold below). A continuous drainage hose is not included but you can hook up a standard garden hose.
Energy efficient: doesn't hike up the electricity bill with its 3.2 pints of moisture removal per kilowatt hour of electricity used.
A convenient filter indicator will light up when the washable filter needs to be cleaned.
Easy operation: all operational controls are easy-to-understand and use.
Minuses:
Since the washable air filter is located above the bucket, it is not as convenient to access for cleaning compared to if it was side-mounted.
Soleus does not provide a continuous drainage hose. However, a standard garden hose can easily be attached.
The bucket at 9.5 pints is rather small but it can easily be removed.
Summary:
If you are seeking an affordable room dehumidifier for a smaller area of the house, the Soleus 30 pint is a reliable dehumidifier that will do the job. It has all of the nice features for simple operation including auto defrost for effective operation in cooler environments, an adjustable humidistat, washable air filter to trap large airborne particles and auto-restart in case of a power failure. It has a compact, energy efficient design with sturdy caster wheels for easy relocation. Because of its venting and airflow pattern you can also save some space and locate it near a wall or corner of the room. This model isn't the most attractive and quietest dehumidifier we have tested and reviewed but its ability to quickly draw out moisture will make up for these minor drawbacks. Overall, we found the Soleus to pack enough dehumidification power when intended for those smaller areas up to 600 square feet.
