Features of Sebo Automatic X Series Vacuum Cleaners
Sebo S-Class Filtration System - dirt is picked up and filtered through a 3-layer filter bag, electrostatic microfilter, and exhaust filter inside the Sebo vacuum cleaner. Any vacuum cleaners meeting the "S-Class" standards are equivalent to meeting HEPA requirements to filter out 99.97% of pollens, household dust, dust mites and other allergens as small as 0.3 micrometers in size. For particles 1 micrometer and larger, the filtration rate is 100%.
Automatic Carpet Height Adjustment -Sebo X series vacuums automatically adjust the brush roll to the correct height for cleaning any depth of carpet, rugs and bare floors.
Easy to Change Patented 3-layer Sebo Vacuum Bags - these vacuum bags are sealable filter bags that are strong and act as a microfilter so no dust will escape when sealed; to remove bag: unlatch and remove the bag chamber lid from the vacuum and the paper bag comes out along with it. Then, place a green dust seal disk into the hole in the green plastic bag top and slip the vacuum bag out of the holder. To replace Sebo vacuum bag: simply slip a new bag into the bag holder on the vacuum lid and then latch the lid back onto the vacuum.

The Sebo X series vacuum cleaners have been a favorite of ours and our customers for many years. These upright vacuums pack superior suction, first class filtration, and user friendly features into a lightweight upright design. Sebo also offers a wonderful variety of optional tools that can be purchased separately to handle any cleaning task. We have yet to be disappointed by a Sebo vacuum cleaner.
Pluses:
Seamless transitions from high pile carpet to low pile rugs to bare floors thanks to the power head's automatic height adjustment. Automatic height adjustment is one of the most consumer friendly features on the market.
The X series excellent suction power surprised and amazed our testers as they reported that you never have to go over an area twice! The X4 and X5 vacuums have a powerful 1300 watt motor.
Despite the very powerful motor, the noise level is moderate and we did not find it overbearing and were still able to hear the phone ring.
Sebo upright vacuum cleaners are a delight to use and require little effort to push along any surface. They move effortlessly thanks to their lightweight design, comfortable operating handle, easy glide wheels and self propelled power head.
The X series will automatically shut off if the brush roll is jammed. This is not only a safety feature but it eliminates the potential of destroying the belt and motor.
Sebo has designed all of their vacuums to be easy to maintain. Filters, bags and even the brush roll are easily accessible and can be changed in less than a minute.
Low 5.5" profile and ability to lay the vacuum flat on the floor allows for easy cleaning under beds, dressers, couches, etc. This feature was appreciated by all of our testers.
The X series makes it easy to use the onboard stretch hose and wand for above floor cleaning on the fly. The 3 full-size accessory tools are very easy to put on and switch between so you can reach into deep crevices, clean the stairs and dust the ceiling corners. The crevice tool and upholstery tool are stored on the back of the vacuum. Dust brush is not kept onboard.
For an upright vacuum cleaner, we found the Sebo cleans bare floors very effectively, which is one of the biggest criticisms of upright vacuums.
Automatic height adjustment on the power head makes sure it is the proper height for optimal suction and the seal strip behind the brush roll improves hard floor cleaning by channeling the airflow and preventing debris kickback.
The large 1.4 gallon vacuum cleaner bags hold a lot and seem to last and last.
Sebo's S-class filtration and sealed design keeps dust and dirt particles inside the vacuum, maintaining clean and fresh indoor air.

Minuses:
Sebo's dust bags are made of paper instead of a filtering fiber cloth. Fiber dust bags seem to be more durable and increase airflow and filtration efficiency.
Because the X series does not have adjustable suction control, the suction power and brush roll agitation is very strong and may be too much to use on delicate or natural fiber rugs and lightweight items such as curtains or small bathroom rugs.
The brush roll on the X series cannot be turned off which in some cases might be necessary due to an especially delicate area rug or carpet. However, we’ve found that most of the time this will not be an issue.
Summary:
At a first glance the X series boxy design may look a little dated, but once you use this vacuum you will know why its design has not been changed since first being introduced to the market. This vacuum works phenomenally with strong suction power that picks up embedded dirt and lifts carpet pile on the first pass. It also has a top rated filtration system that does not exhaust dust back into the room.
The X series top the charts for user friendliness. They are lightweight for an upright and have the ability to lay flat on the floor to easily get under furniture. They have an integrated wand, hose and 3 full size accessory tools that offer an outstanding eight foot reach for above floor cleaning. And as if that is not enough, they provide seamless transitions from carpet, to bare floors, to area rugs with no need for manual adjustment. The X series uses electronic sensors which automatically adjust the height of the power head as needed for optimal suction on any floor surface. However, though this vacuum is safe and effective for use on bare flooring, we recommend using a parquet floor brush with natural bristles for highly polished or delicate bare floors such as tile, parquet or hard wood.
Everyone who has tested the Sebo X4 or X5 upright vacuum cleaner has given it rave reviews. Over and over, these are voted a hands down favorite upright vacuum for their lightweight, versatile and easy to use design. We have sold Sebos for many years with zero complaints and very little returns. That is a pretty impressive track record.
