FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 22, 2010
Braintree, MA – Boston Green Goods, Inc., a multi-channel retailer of allergy relief and green, eco-friendly products, reports that in the last quarter of 2009 their shipped sales of just over $5 million dollars was a 17 % increase over the previous year.
Mercia Tapping, CEO & President of Boston Green Goods, predicts that double digit growth is finally going to occur in 2010 for the company after lackluster sales for the past 18 months where profits were mainly achieved by stringent cost cutting.
“Leading a company through a recession is not a pleasant experience, but tested my mettle as a CEO. It will be much more enjoyable to plan for growth again in the upcoming year,” says Tapping.
The company has remained profitable during the recession although sales have been sluggish. Tapping has found that their retail customers are more bargain conscious than they used to be, and higher-end product choices moved more slowly in the past year. However, December 2009 saw a lift in the purchase of more expensive items, the first increase in a while. Tapping has been diligently preparing for the turnaround by diversifying the product lines offered in AllergyBuyersClub.com and GreenandMore.com and by planning for the launch of other web sites in 2010.
Boston Green Goods, Inc. owns a portfolio of healthy living catalog and internet web properties including AllergyBuyersClub.com, currently ranked #379 on the Internet Retailer Top 500 web sites and sells such products as air purifiers, HEPA vacuums and hypoallergenic bedding for allergy relief, and GreenandMore.com, which offers eco-conscious consumers a place to shop for energy-saving & recycled products that help them live a greener life.
