How it Works:
The temperature can be displayed either in Fahrenheit or Celsius by adjusting the °C/°F switch on the back of the unit. The audio alarm can be activated using the "Al On/Al Off" switch on the back of the unit.
Product Usage: Suggestions for placement of the unit:
There is an opening on the back of the unit, which allows it to be easily hung from the wall. In addition, a base is provided for the unit to be placed on any surface in a standing position.
Since the humidity level within rooms can vary greatly, the Mold Alert should be placed in an area most likely subject to mold growth. We were impressed on how easy it was to use the Mold Alert with its large digital display of the present air temperature and humidity and the added feature of the dew-point to evaluate potential comfort and health issues. The visible and audible alarm is great to have so as you do not need to worry if the humidity is getting dangerously high. Furthermore, the Max/Min temperature and humidity function enables one to monitor the performance of their humidity and temperature appliances for a specified period and retest them with a simple reset button.
Pluses:
Display: Easy to read digital window w/ option for wall mount or table top display.
Mold Alert with audible shutoff option: audible/visible alarm indicates likelihood of mold and moisture damage to your belongings and surfaces in your home.
Max/Min Values with reset button: to monitor the changes in temperature and humidity conditions in your home for a specified period as often as you like.
Minuses:
Does not measure the outdoor temperature, humidity, and dew-point.
Will not detect the presence of mold.
