The S6 Quartz features 6 suction control settings and Miele's exclusive 12-stage AirClean Sealed System™ with your choice of a standard AirClean filter or upgraded Active HEPA filter for maximum filtration performance. Miele's new S6 series replaces Miele's S4 Galaxy series of lightweight canister vacuum cleaners. The Miele S6270 Quartz is the replacement vacuum cleaner for the Miele S4212 Polaris. The new S6 series has the same compact design and entry-level price points of the S4 series along with some improvements such as a quieter Vortex motor, lightweight skeleton construction, larger cleaning radius and extended warranty. Each S6 model comes standard with an AirClean filter but we provide the option to purchase your new S6 with Miele's Active HEPA filter for maximum filtration performance.

The carpet setting on the combination floor tool is not effective for deep cleaning of medium and high pile carpet or rugs.
The smooth floor setting on the combination floor tool is not as gentle on your delicate smooth flooring as a parquet floor brush.
Non-electric hose and wand configuration means the S6 Quartz can not be used with an electric power brush.
No filter change indicator on this vacuum (a feature only found on Miele's S5 luxury models).
Summary:
We love the portability, style and convenience of the Miele S6270 Quarts vacuum cleaner but its cleaning ability is limited due to its non-electric configuration and straight suction combination floor tool. The combination floor tool will get the job done but does not compare to the cleaning performance of a power brush and parquet floor brush. The S6 Quartz is a good, affordable choice for someone who lives in an apartment or condo with mostly smooth flooring and a few low pile area rugs. It offers a great range of suction power and should easily satisfy your cleaning needs when matched up against the correct floor types. It is a great choice for someone who likes to vacuum quickly and does not want to deal with changing floor tools. When purchased with the Active HEPA filter it is a safe choice for an allergy or asthma sufferer.
