The Miele Orion canister vacuum cleaner is the Mercedes of the Galaxy line, offering the most state-of-the-art, user-friendly features. Its convenient design allows you to turn the vacuum on and off, switch tools, adjust suction and rewind the cord without ever having to bend down! The Orion's stylish appearance is finished in a sleek Soft-Touch black.
Pluses:
Excellent HEPA filtration: We used our particle counter to test these vacuums with the HEPA filter and found it removed virtually every particle down to .3 microns.
Impressive power: Just as powerful as their larger siblings, these vacuums have the same 1200 watt motor.
Quiet operation: Miele’s reputation for quiet vacuum cleaners continues with the Orion Galaxy Series unit, which is so quiet we could actually hear the phone ring in the other room.
Convenient controls: We prefer the Orion S4780 to the other Galaxy series models because its suction and on/off controls are at your fingertips.
Lightweight and easy to store: This vacuum is simple to carry and store because of its wand park feature and lightweight, convenient carrying handle.
Excellent maneuverability: Thanks to the 360° swivel hose, durable wheels and Miele’s new deluxe handle with a swivel neck, the Orion vacuum offers the best in maneuverability.
Auto-reverse cord rewind: No need to bend down when you are finished vacuuming - simply step on the auto-reverse button to rewind the cord.

Clean high and low with the wand: We like the tri-scope wand, it can be effortlessly adjusted in two places to the length you need making cleaning easier.
Parquet Floor Brush: Easily glides over all bare floor and tile surfaces thanks to its gentle horse hair bristles which are great at getting dust and particles out of cracks and crevices. The brush's 90° rotation makes cleaning corners and around
furniture easy. We think this brush is superb, especially for highly polished flooring that scratches easily.
Turbo brush: Turbo brush is a lightweight, easily maneuverable carpet tool powered by air movement of the vacuum cleaner. It features a surrounding buffer strip to help protect your furniture. This tool works very well on low to medium pile carpeting.
Minuses:
The Orion vacuum cleaner comes standard with a Parquet Floor Brush, which is great if you have highly polished floors but is not made for carpet. We designed the Deluxe package to help meet your individual household floor cleaning needs.
Unlike Miele's large models, these units do not have a bumper guard to protect the your furniture as well as the exterior of the vacuum.
We love the quality of the FJM Intensive clean bags, however, they are small and only hold up to 3.7 quarts of dust and dirt inside.
