The Miele S4210 canister vacuum cleaners are the entry-level vacuums of the S4 Galaxy Series. The Sirius is the only one of the four S4210s to offer standard active HEPA filtration. The Sirius has the same basic compact design featuring manual dial power-controls on the canister, 3 onboard accessory tools and more. The S4210s have a stylish appearance and the Sirius adds an attractive electric blue color to the S4 line up. View the other S4210 Galaxy Series Canister Vacuums.
Pluses:
Excellent filtration: The Sirius comes standard with a certified active HEPA filter. The HEPA filter coupled with Miele’s sealed system design provides superb allergen filtration.
Impressive power: Just as powerful as their larger siblings, these vacuums have the same 1200 watt motor.
Quiet operation: Miele's reputation for quiet vacuum cleaners continues with the S4 Galaxy Series units, which are so quiet you can actually hear your phone ring.
Lightweight: We cannot stress enough how easy these vacuums are to move and carry. For those of you with two floors or stairs, these vacuums are perfect.
Auto-reverse cord rewind: No need to bend down when you are finished vacuum cleaning - simply step on the auto-reverse button to rewind the cord.
Professional grade tools: Since these vacuums are smaller, the tools are stored on the wand. Unlike most units with tool storage on the wand, we found these are actually easy to snap on and off. Includes 3 accessory tools: crevice nozzle, upholstery tool, and a dusting brush.
Neat storage with wand park system: We like this feature because it makes storing the vacuum much easier.
Parquet floor brush: Easily glides over all bare floor and tile surfaces thanks to its two soft rollers and gentle horsehair bristles which are great at getting dust and particles out of cracks and crevices. The brush's 90° rotation makes cleaning corners and around furniture easy. We think this brush is superb, especially for highly polished flooring that easily scratches.
Turbo brush: Turbo brush is a lightweight, easily maneuverable carpet tool powered by air movement of the vacuum cleaner. It features a surrounding buffer strip to help protect your furniture. This tool works very well on low to medium pile carpeting and does a better job at removing pet hair than the straight suction combination Carpet/Floor tool.
Minuses:
Unlike Miele‘s larger models, these units do not have a bumper guard to protect your furniture as well as the exterior of the vacuum.
The FJM Intensive clean bags are excellent for trapping particulates, however, they are small and only have a 3.7 quart capacity.
While the Sirius vacuum cleaner is very easy to maneuver, it is not as easy to maneuver as the higher end models (Luna and Orion) in the Galaxy series that have a deluxe handle for additional swivel capabilities.
Summary:
We are happy to add the Sirius to the S4 Galaxy series compact canister vacuum line up. The Sirius canister vacuum is a good value choice with the same excellent filtration of the more expensive models. We love the portability of Miele‘s Galaxy Series S4210 Vacuum Cleaners, which are easy to use, carry and store.
