  • Prewash terry cloth towels before using them so they absorb residue better (have about 10 on hand for use)
  • Car odors and detailing - to refresh the air in the AC vents of cars or RVs, turn the air conditioning OFF, spray a mist of steam on low level with just the one hole nozzle for a few seconds into the air vent (steam will come out the other vents when you do this); then turn the air conditioner on cold to dry the vents
  • Portable air conditioners - same tip as "car odors" above
  • Upholstery fabric, scotch-guarded fabric (directions vary for types of fabrics - see owners manual) - always test a small area for scotchguarding, then using large triangle brush with diapered towel, heat towel 3 to 5 seconds; clean furniture using back and forth movement; if material seems to be getting too wet, cut steam off; reheat towel as needed
  • Cabinets or hardwood floors - it works well to mist hardwood floor cleaner on the floor or cabinets first, and then go over them with an attachment double wrapped in a towel on level low to medium steam
  • Tile grout - the small nylon brush is helpful for cleaning out bacteria and mold in grout
  • Grill or oven - the small brass brush is ideal for greasy surfaces, and will not scratch the enamel on stoves
  • Cleaning WhiteWing steam cleaner with vinegar - the only maintenance required on the steam cleaner is rinsing the mineral deposits from the tank once a month when in use; use a simple solution by adding 4 cups white vinegar with 2 cups water to the tank and follow instructions in owners manual
  • Keeping aluminum free of mineral deposits - it is recommended to rinse out the boiler tank after each use when unit is cold and unplugged. Simply fill the steam cleaner with water, close top cap, agitate water around, then place the unit over a sink, open top cap, turn WhiteWing Steamer upside down and drain water out
  • Cleaning accessories - all steam cleaner accessories can be cleaned in the dishwasher, except for the flexible hose; they can also be sanitized by steaming them
  • Iron - optional iron can rest on rubber knobs on the top of the steam cleaner when iron is turned off; if surface of iron needs to be cleaned, just steam clean the base of the iron using the 1" nylon brush
  • Using a cleaner - if interested in combining a cleaning formula (manufacturer recommends a natural citrus cleaner) with steam for a very effective combination, the cleaner can be used in conjunction with the WhiteWing by first, diluting the solution with spraying the surface to be cleaned first, and then use a towel wrapped tool and go over surface with steam; especially useful with kitchen or bathroom areas

Note: More application tips and procedures are included in WhiteWing steam cleaner instructional video and owner's manual with detailed instructions depending on each surface.
