The HAAN Steam Mop is designed to clean hard floor surfaces that will withstand high heat. Do not use on unsealed wood or unglazed ceramic floors. It is recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding. Never leave the floor sanitizer in one spot for any period of time. Always place the appliance on the floor protector pad and make sure that your floor sanitizer is turned off when not in use.
Use only regular water or distilled/purified water if the tap water in your area is very hard. It is recommended to clean the water tank once a month to eliminate calcium deposits. Add three ounces of water to the tank and shake to loosen any deposits. Immediately empty the water into a sink. Do not use vinegar or other decalcifying substances in the water tank.

With its slim profile steam head, high temperature dry steam and user-friendly design, the HAAN SI-35 works like a charm when cleaning floors and killing germs throughout the home. Here is what we discovered when we took it home for use.
Pluses:
The main draw of the SI-35 is the tank can easily be taken out for refilling. No bending down to fill it through a rather small hole on the mop head is needed! We found that a full tank can clean a larger-sized area for around 20 minutes of continuous use.
The SI-35 features a low-profiled steam head and made it extremely easy to reach under tables, chairs and even right underneath the cabinets.
The heat-up time took only a few minutes and through the fact that you can easily see the steam beginning to emit from the steam head you know it's ready to go. Just make sure you place the steam mop on the resting pad while heating up! If not, there is the great potential of scorching the floor.
The SI-35 is very lightweight, making it extremely easy to move around and clean multiple rooms.
Sanitizing the floors or cleaning up those spills has never been easier! The HAAN SI-35 emits the perfect amount of steam which leaves the floor clean and dry almost instantly.
The Ultra-microfiber cleaning pads were always secured tightly on the steam head when moving back and forth. We were impressed with how much was absorbed on the pads. One look of all the dirt and grime that was collected will make you realize that what you thought were clean floors in the past weren't at all! The combination of the high temperature steam and the cleaning pads removed deep down grime for good.
Minuses:
Have to be careful on what type of floors you plan on cleaning when using a high temperature steam mop. Unfortunately some floors, such as unglazed ceramic, cannot withstand high heat and can potentially become damaged. We suggest testing a small area before moving on.
Unlike our FS-20 model, the mop head cannot detach for use with a short handle.
Moving the steam mop back and forth would be easier if the handle was more ergonomic in design.
Summary:
The HAAN SI-35 steam mop is a different variation from the ever-so-popular HAAN FS-20 but it still does an exceptional job on those dirty and grimy hardwood floors! This lightweight unit is getting up there in popularity because of its simple, lightweight design and the fact that you can remove the water tank while filling. It's an affordable and effective solution for cleaning the floors without the use of common chemical-based cleaners or by the way of the traditional and back-breaking bucket and mops method.
