The HAAN Multi-Purpose Steamer when using the Ultra-Microfiber pads is designed to clean hard floor surfaces that will withstand high heat. Do not use on unsealed wood or unglazed ceramic floors. It is recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding. Never leave the steamer in one spot for any period of time. The HAAN MS-30 is an entry-level steam cleaner which combines functionality, versatility and affordability. This multi-purpose steam cleaner takes the place of multiple cleaning tools and traditional household cleaners and uses the power of steam to sanitize and deodorize many surfaces in the home including hardwood floors, countertops and bathroom sinks.
Pluses:
The HAAN MS-30 is one of our most compact and lightweight steam cleaners that we offer. Plus, its on-board tool caddy makes storing the most frequently used attachments highly convenient.
When put to the test, the MS-30 provided continuous steam for around 20 minutes before needing refilling. Surprisingly, this unit was able to regain pressure after steaming for a minute or too rather quickly. The ready light on the canister was clear and made it easy to know when the pressure was back to normal.
The steam head and ultra-microfiber pads made steaming the floors a breeze and in just a matter of minutes the kitchen floor was spotless. Just by looking at all of the dirt and grime that was picked up by the ultra-microfiber pad lets you know that it was doing an excellent job. The steam head is very lightweight which makes it easy to move back and forth across the floors.
Another feature of the steam head was that we were able to detach it and use it on countertops. It was truly amazing how clean they got without the use of common household chemical-based cleaners! They shined like never before!
The HAAN MS-30 comes with a good assortment of standard accessories including a nylon and stainless steel brush. The nylon brush did a decent job with taking off caked on oil and grease on the oven. We simply steamed and lightly scrubbed over the grime and then took a cotton towel to pick up the residue. The stainless steel brush allowed us to take off some build-up on the oven grates with ease (before we used to have to soak the grates for some time to help loosen up the build-up).
We really enjoy the included steam towel, which conveniently slips over the steam head. This allowed us to safely and effectively clean the windows without any Windex or streaking. The steam towel can also be used on mirrors, shower doors and glass coffee tables.
Overall, the steam that was being emitted when using all attachments came out fairly dry without any serious dripping or leaking.
Minuses:
There is only one steam pressure setting which is expected with a machine at this cost. This limitation can make blasting away those tougher stains more difficult.
The temperature of the steam isn’t as high as some of our other steam cleaners but it will still effectively sanitize and deodorize surfaces
The tools could be more durable and sturdy. We recommend making sure that all attachments are locked into place tightly since some water may leak out if too loose.
Summary:
The HAAN MS-30 is a good entry-level steam cleaner for quick cleaning in apartments or smaller sized homes. The steam head, ultra-microfiber pad and steam towel did an excellent job on the floors and countertops. However, some of the other attachments, such as the nylon brush and angle adapter, didn't deliver the same results compared to our more expensive models. They did do a decent job for those light and quick cleaning jobs around the oven, microwave and refrigerator. Overall, we find the HAAN MS-30 a good option for those who prefer to clean without chemicals and are just getting into steam cleaning.
