Product Usage:
The fan runs continuously on this unit. The compressor only will turn off either when the bucket is full or when the set humidity has been reached. There is a two-fold benefit from the fan always running which is first, the humidistat will detect an increase in humidity gradually due to the constant flow of air from the room which will prevent the compressor from turning on pre-maturely. Second, the fan will both circulate the air throughout the room to enhance the mixing of the humidity in the air and also assist with the drying of any residual moisture inside the unit to prevent bacteria and mold. Finally, the concern over electricity used is minor since the fan running is similar to the wattage from a light bulb and it is the compressor that uses the majority of the electricity.

With the included automatic defrost and capability of operating in temperatures as low as 41°F, this dehumidifier will confidently perform in cooler environments below 65 degrees.
Auto restart function relieves the worry of a power failure when away from the home. After a power interruption the dehumidifier will turn itself back on at the original settings that were selected.
Features a set and forget adjustable humidity control with digital temperature and relative humidity readout display: After selecting the desired level of humidity between 30% to 90%, the dehumidifier will then read out the actual humidity and temperature in the room. When testing the readings against a calibrated humidistat we found the built-in hygrometer to be fairly accurate.
The Friedrich is equipped with an easy access, front-loading bucket in case you prefer to remove the water manually.
Energy efficient with its energy star rated 3.5 pints of moisture removal per kilowatt hour of electricity used.
Minuses:
It's not our quietest dehumidifier we offer but its ability to quickly draw out moisture will compensate this one minus.
Summary:
We are pleased to offer a dehumidifier that offers distinct styling and all of the features needed to meet your every demand in basements, offices, storage areas or any other areas where moisture is a concern. Some of the most useful features which met our approval after reviewing this unit were the quality of all of the drainage tools. This included its powerful internal condensate pump, the included drainage hose and the uncomplicated continuous drainage hook up. Another bonus feature is its current temperature and humidity level display right on the unit so that you can constantly keep an eye on room conditions. If you have a colder basement, the Friedrich would be a suitable choice since it features auto-defrost and low temperature operation down to 41°F. After much testing we found the Friedrich as a solid dehumidifier that delivered first rate water removal results day in and day out.
