Pluses:
Sealed HEPA filtration helps keep your indoor air fresh and clean, trapping dust and dirt inside the vacuum bag and filters.
Its small and lightweight design makes it easy to use, carry, and store in a closet. You can also easily remove the hose from the canister and store it on a closet shelf.
The vacuum is easy to maneuver around the house with 360° swivel hose at both canister and handle, large rear wheels and a large cleaning radius.
Metal telescopic wand adds durability and allows the user to adjust the wand length to comfortably accommodate their height and reach high into the ceiling corners.
The straight suction floor tool powered by the 1400 watt motor offers good suction power to grab up dust bunnies and dirt that is on the floor surface.
5 inch crevice tool and combination dust brush/upholstery tool are stored neatly onboard at the back of the canister and slide easily on to the wand or handle for use.
Includes a bonus Pet Power Paw handheld turbo brush to remove pet hair from carpet and furniture which adds value to this vacuum cleaner package.
Optional floor tools this vacuum works with the Maxi turbo brush with an air powered brush roll and the Electrolux bare floor brush with natural horse hair bristles which are available for purchase separately but will expand the vacuums cleaning power and ability to better clean highly polished floors and low to medium pile carpets.
Minuses:
No suction adjustment makes it less efficient at accommodating lightweight rugs and curtains. There is an air release valve at the handle but its effect is minimal.
The vacuum seemed noisy for such a small canister. We had tested larger vacuums that are quieter, but than again this does not have the option to turn down the suction and the motor does provide 1400 watts of power.
No automatic cord rewind. You must wind the power cord around the hooks on the bottom side of the vacuum.
We are not sure why the floor tool is considered "Deluxe". It is a simple floor tool with straight suction and has no height adjustments or the option to extend brush bristles for bare floors.
No indicator lights to tell when bag is full or filter needs to be replaced. You should check the bag and filter before you start vacuuming to make sure they are in working condition. Vacuuming on an overly full bag will reduce suction power.
All plastic wheels are less durable and do not have a rubber coating like most higher end vacuum cleaners.
Summary:
The Eureka Pet Lover compact canister vacuum is an affordable, entry-level vacuum ideal for a small condo or apartment with mostly bare flooring. It has good quality HEPA exhaust filter and uses special Arm & Hammer vacuum bags that help eliminate odors. It is very easy and straight forward to use, just plug it in and turn it on. The floor tools and accessory tools slide on and off with out hassle and the telescopic wand offers a nice range of height adjustment. It surprisingly has a very large operating radius with a 20 ft power cord, 7 foot hose and adjustable telescopic wand. Its small size, large rear wheels, front swivel wheel and swivel hose makes it easy to maneuver in smaller spaces and requires minimal storage space.
The Pet Power Paw handheld turbo brush is the silver lining to this vacuum. The Pet Power Paw has been specially designed to loosen, grab and remove pet hair from carpet and upholstery. Powered by the vacuums suction power, this nifty handheld turbo brush works like a charm to efficiently remove pet hair, crumbs, dirt and debris from furniture, stairs, upholstery, and car interiors. Despite what it lacks in overall construction quality, for those on a tight budget this little vacuum will help keep your floors and furniture clean and maintain a healthy home as it does not spew dirt and dust back into the room as you vacuum. You can also decide to purchase the bare floor brush and turbo brush to use with this vacuum if you would like floor tools that will more effectively clean highly polished smooth floors and low to medium cut pile carpets or rugs.
