Natural Rubber: The natural rubber comes from the sap of Hevea Brasilielnsis, the common rubber tree, grown in Malaysian plantations. In order to produce the purest product without chemicals, the Hevea sap is harvested early in the morning and molded by the afternoon. Obasan follows the Dunlop system that involves only air, natural soap and vulcanization agents, which are used to ensure the rubber keeps its form. The natural rubber pillows are then shipped to Canada where they are expertly covered with 100% organic cotton.
100% Certified Organic Cotton Cover: The organic cotton for the pillow cover is handpicked from the Peruvian Andes and woven in Germany and Switzerland. This simple, but time-consuming and expensive process eliminates impurities such as leaves, twigs, cottonseeds, and crop dust and ensures the cleanest, purest, most resilient cotton fiber that is virtually non-aromatic.
KRAV of Sweden, Europe's oldest and most prestigious certification agency has certified these pillow covers as organic cotton.
Care of:
Cover the pillow with a pillowcase at all times when it is being used. Air seasonally. Do not wash pillow, allow it to get wet or expose it to direct sunlight. Eliminate odors by sprinkling with baking soda. As necessary, remove the pre-shrunk cotton cover and wash.

This is the first natural rubber pillow that we have offered. Natural rubber should not be confused with latex. Latex is a common term for the sap of the rubber tree that can contain stabilizers, bonding agents, petroleum based products and chemicals. Natural rubber does not need these elements and chemicals because it is molded the same day that it is harvested. This pillow is 97% natural rubber with natural zinc and soda ash to ensure it keeps its form.
Our testers are pleased with natural rubber because it is extremely durable and elastic. These will not lose their loft or original shape like wool or cotton pillows. Natural rubber is hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial and dust mite resistant. We are also pleased to hear that these pillows can be recycled at the end of their life, because pure rubber is a natural biodegradable substance.

Summary:
Our testing team loved the flexibility of the standard pillow with shredded rubber filling! It is great for you if you are someone who wants to bunch and re-shape your pillow. Please keep in mind that although the shredded rubber filling is extremely soft and resilient, it does have a slight "lumpy” feel because of all of the rubber pieces. Unlike the regular standard shaped and contour shaped pillow, this comes in a set of 2.
