Pluses:
Great filtration system with pre and post motor filters, HEPA filter and a micro-seal system. The Oxygen does not expel dirty air back into the room and is safe for allergy and asthma sufferers to use.
Compact and lightweight, this canister weights only 13 lbs and is easy to maneuver around the house and carry upstairs.
Very mobile with two larger rubber coated back wheels and a front swivel wheel and a very large carry handle.
The filters and vacuum bag are easy to access and change, everything just slips and snaps into place.
Full-sized power brush offers strong suction for deep cleaning carpets with 3 carpet height adjustments that are easily changed using the foot pedal on the power brush -no bending down to adjust a dial.
Natural bristle floor brush is 13 inches long and very effective at sweeping up crumbs and dirt.
The dusting brush is also very nice and does a good job at removing dust in hard to reach crevices, corners and around your furniture or baseboards so you do not have to bend down.
Finger-tip brush roll on/off controls make it easy to move from carpets to bare floors.
Large foot pedal controls to turn vacuum on/off and to activate the automatic rewind prevent you from having to bend down, reducing back stress.
All-purpose cleaning is made easy thanks to the crevice nozzle and dusting brush stored under the handle for convenient access on the go. An upholstery brush is also included but is not stored onboard.
The optional handheld power brush is absolutely amazing. Powered by its own motor, its performance is unbeatable and perfect for pet hair, furniture, stairs, cars, and so much more.
Minuses:
No suction adjustment. This vacuum always runs at high suction speed so cleaning smaller sized rugs and upholstery such as curtains can be difficult because of too much suction power.
We found this vacuum to be noisy in comparison to other canister vacuums which can be reduced in suction power to offer quieter operation.
The vacuum bags are small at only 2 quarts although they maintain their suction until the bag is amply full.
Upholstery tool is not stored onboard. Only the crevice nozzle and dust brush are stored onboard under the handle, and though that is a convenient location they are more likely to get knocked off then when they are stored on the canister.
Crevice tool is only 4 inches long and does not have as long of a reach as we would have liked.

The Oxygen EL6988E features a new color and an improved power brush to handle all your floor cleaning needs. The Oxygen's compact design makes it easy to maneuver around the house, carry up stairs and store in a closet. Packaged with a full sized power brush with 3 height adjustments, a large natural bristle deluxe bare floor brush and 3 accessory tools, this vacuum is ideal for homes with a mix of carpet and bare floors.
We were very impressed with the Oxygen's HEPA filtration performance and would recommend this canister vacuum for allergy or asthma sufferers. The filters and bags are easy to access and change and the bag change indicator lets you get the most efficient use out of the vacuum bag. Overall this is a very affordable canister vacuum cleaner that has the basic necessities, cleans very well, and is easy to use. Our biggest complaint was it is noisy and does not allow you to adjust the suction power. Also, only the dusting brush and crevice tool are stored onboard and because they are located under the handle they are more likely to be accidentally knocked off and lost.
If you want the ultimate cleaning package we strongly suggest the purchase of the optional handheld power brush which will blow you away with its suction and brush roll action powered by its own motor. It amazingly takes care of pet hair and crumbs on the first sweep!
