The Electrolux EL4040AZ JetMaxx Green is Electrolux’s eco-friendly vacuum cleaner with a power brush. The JetMaxx is constructed from 55% post consumer recycled plastics which saves on average 90% of the water and 80-90% of the energy consumed when producing virgin plastics. Additional “green” features of this vacuum include a washable HEPA filter, dust bag made from corn starch, and reduced wattage which has been implemented without a significant loss of suction or pickup, thanks to Electrolux’s high performance airflow design.

When we tested the JetMaxx vacuum cleaner for exhaust filtration efficiency, our particle counter showed 0 particles escaping through the filter; some of the best filtration results we have seen.

Reviewers loved how the wand has a step-on release button for removing the power brush. This made changing to the bare floor brush a breeze.

Minuses:
The power brush is self-propelled which made moving back and forth very easy, but the power brush was found to be a bit difficult to turn. We believe that this observation is due our comparison to other vacuums using a swivel design for easier maneuverability.
We were surprised that Electrolux EL4040AZ JetMaxx Green vacuum cleaner was on the noisy side. It’s louder noise level can most likely be attributed to its modest green construction, which doesn’t use the extra materials and foam padding that is found in other models.
The crevice tool is short with only a 4 inch reach which made it more difficult to reach down into deep, narrow spaces.

Dust bags have a small capacity of 2 quarts.
