Description of Dr. Caboodle Whole House Air Purification System
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found the air inside your home can be 100% more polluted than the air outside. The Dr. Caboodle Whole House Air Purification System is an all-inclusive, do-it-yourself system designed to make whole house air filtration affordable and easy for a homeowner to install. Dr. Caboodle combines an anti-microbial pre-filter, HEPA filter and activated carbon filter with a UV-C germicidal lamp to remove impurities in the air that can cause allergies, asthma, influenza, hepatitis, tuberculosis, pneumonia, tiredness, colds and other respiratory ailments. The Dr. Caboodle Whole House Air Purification System draws air out of your furnace return duct, purifies it, and cycles it back into the duct system. It is designed to operate in concert with your HVAC system and can be installed by you – just follow the "do it yourself" instructions!
An often quoted “downside” to by-pass systems is that they only clean a small portion of the air, usually quoted at 30%. While it is true that at any onetime we are only “cleaning” a portion of the systems total air, it is exactly this smaller air volume and slower velocities that allow the Dr. Caboodle to provide true “ultra-purified” air. Most HVAC systems move large amounts of air at high velocities utilizing low-suction blowers; while this design is ideal for heating and cooling, it is not conducive to high efficiency filtration, particularly HEPA and UVC germicidal lamps. High efficiency filters (HEPA , etc.) require high suction to pull air through the media to capture and trap very fine particulates and UVC germicidal lamps require significant “dwell’’ time to destroy microorganisms; neither feature is currently provided by most HVAC systems. The design of the Dr. Caboodle eliminates these liabilities by combining mechanical diversion and a powerful blower to limit the working air volume and velocity providing true HEPA filtration and an optimized UVC “killing chamber”. Ultra purified air is returned back into the HVAC system and repeated many times a day and since a house is not a “closed” system – (air in the home is continually in motion), over a short period of time 100% of the home’s air will be purified.

A high-efficiency blower draws almost one-third of the total contaminated air from one of the main return air ducts in your home

Each cycle of air intake is purified and returned to your home's HVAC system for re-circulation
The Dr. Caboodle Whole House Air Purification System does not replace standard HVAC filters and does not interfere with normal operation. While the Dr. Caboodle constantly cleans your air, it cleans at a higher volume with the HVAC system fan in continuous operation. On continuous operation, the Dr. Caboodle unit will generate an average of 25 air changes per day in a 2,000-square-foot home. Multiple units may be recommended in larger homes.

When we removed everything from the box it was easy to separate everything and the instructions were easy to understand. We liked the fact that all of the tools that are necessary to complete the installation and are included inside the box. We were particularly impressed when we measured how clean the air was that came out of the bottom of the unit after passing through the filters. The particle count of the outflow of air was 95.8 percent cleaner than the particle count of the air in the room. In order to maximize air cleaning, we recommend running your central air system in fan mode to clean the air 24/7. Most experts would recommend a minimum of running the fan 12 hours per day to effectively clean your indoor air.
