How it Works:
Operation: Simply plug it in, fill the steam generator with water and add a few drops of your chose aromatherapy oil (if desired). Then set the time and temperature required by using the remote control or display and in just a few minutes you are ready to jump into your own personal steam bath!

Care of:
We recommend distilled water, with just a touch of tap water (to help the water sensors). Tap water can be used, but the water pot would require descaling after every 30 uses.
There are a few precautions to keep in mind. Because of the increase in cardiovascular activity caused by the high heat, sweat therapy is not recommended for people with heart disease or other cardiovascular problems. Individuals with high blood pressure should first consult their doctor.
In addition, the treatment is not advised for pregnant women, small children, or the elderly. Do not take a sweat treatment if you have a fever or an open wound. If you have been working out, be sure that your body has had time to cool down before exposing it to the heat of a sweat bath. Do not push your body beyond its comfort level; the point is not to sweat it out the longest, but to allow your mind and body to luxuriate in this health-enhancing and invigorating miniature spa treatment.

Benefits of Steam Bathing:
- Skin matters: Rehydration, eczema, Psoriasis and other skin conditions. In the Aromasteam Portable Steam Room the heat from the steam causes the heart to beat faster and harder in an attempt to cool the body, causing blood to flood to even the smallest capillaries. Increased blood flow to these tiny capillaries (just under the skin’s surface) causes the skin to glow and look healthy because the blood cells carry minerals, vitamins and oxygen; vital for a healthy body and rehydrating the skin. At the same time the steam room causes all 2.6 million pores to open and perspiration begins. Tone-dulling toxins are naturally expelled and in turn the skin naturally exfoliates leaving behind a clean, supple skin that's firm to the touch. For Eczema and Psoriasis sufferers moist heat, over steam room has long been used as welcome relief from the symptoms. It helps prevent the skin from drying out and breaking and also reduces the itching and inflammation.
- Enhance the Respiratory System: Colds, flu, asthma, bronchitis. Steam inhalation is an effective treatment in respiratory conditions and is highly recommended for treatment of the common cold, sinusitis, bronchitis, allergies and asthma. Steam relieves inflammation and congestion of upper respiratory mucous membranes. Since the air is moist, throat irritation is relieved. Steam looses secretions and stimulates discharge of mucous from the throat and lungs. Steam also relieves spasmodic breathing associated with Asthma or Croup.
- Boosts the Immune System: By elevating the body's core temperature above 37.2 D°C an artificial fever or "hyperthermia" is created. When taking a steam bath, skin temperatures rise to 40°C (104 F) and internal body temperatures rise to about 38°C (100.4°F) Fever, often associated with disease is actually the body's natural repose to infections. Creating an artificial fever stimulates several important processes that are highly beneficial for raising the body's immune system. Viruses can usually only survive within a narrow temperature range, elevating the body's core temperature may stunt the virus' multiplication or eliminate the virus outright. Creating an artificial fever triggers the release and further production of white blood cells, antibodies and other proteins called Interferons. The white blood cells produced within bone marrow help defends the body against infections and foreign materials. Antibodies are proteins which fight identify and neutralise viruses and other foreign bodies, whilst Interferons are glycolproteins that assist the immune response by inhibiting viral replication within other cells of the body.
