Care of:
Replace HEPA-type filter every 6-9 month depending on use. Replace UV lamp annually. Wipe clean as needed with damp cloth. Do not use any harsh cleaners.
The Paralda entered the market as a "green eco-friendly" air purifier but Alen has recently repositioned it with a focus on its bacteria and virus killing capability. Replace the Paralda's signature HEPA-type particle filter with Alen's Silver Ion filter for maximum control of allergens, bacteria and viruses.
Pluses:
During our filtration test, we recorded an average particle reduction of 94% on the first air pass. We were very impressed by this level of particle filtration. After an hour of running the Alen Parlada air purifier in a room around 169 sq. ft., achieving 6 air changes per hour, your indoor air is going to be pristine clean.
The Alen Parlada air purifier's UVC lamp is conveniently located behind the particle filter making it easy to access and change. It is larger than a standard UV bulb and runs the complete length of the filter so its UV rays can do a more comprehensive job of destroying bacteria and flu causing viruses trapped on the filter.
Both the UVC lamp and the ionizer are claimed to be "ozone-safe" and when we tested it our ozone meter registered no detectable ozone. The Alen Paralda does give the user the option to turn the UVC lamp and ionizer off if desired.

Minuses:
The Alen Paralda air purifier does not include any carbon for gas, chemical or odor filtration.
The Alen Paralda air purifier does not include a pre-filter to capture the larger particulates and therefore all particles are captured by the HEPA-type filter reducing its useful life.
The Alen Paralda air purifier's glowing logo can not be shut off independently of the unit and may bother those who like their bedroom completely dark at night.
Programing the Paralda's timer with the soft touch control pad can be tricky to figure out. We recommend referencing the manual for quick and easy programing.
The Alen Paralda was a bit nosier than expected while on the highest speed and you would most-likely only use this speed setting for quick cleaning. It is however very quiet on low speed which would be suitable for bedroom use.
Summary:
The Alen Paralda air purifier is primarily for those who are concerned with the removal of allergen and other airborne particles. It does not offer any gas, chemical or odor control. Its unique airflow design allows it to clean a room larger than the standard tower air purifier which is appealing to allergy sufferers who need to clean a medium-size room but do not want an air purifier that is big and bulky. Its price is a bit on the higher side, but is reasonable considering the Alen Paralda's design and features are a step above the common tower air purifier, and if you replace the filters every 6 months it is protected by a lifetime warranty.
