The Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic 7142 dual warm and cool mist humidifier quietly and quickly humidifies a room size of up to 860 sq. ft. A hygrostat allows you to control your level humidification and you can aim the fine mist wherever needed. The water tank is equipped with a replaceable demineralization cartridge to prevent lime scale or mineral residues. This Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic humidifier features a pre-heating option prevents that cool, clammy feeling so prevalent with humidifiers.

Care of:
Cleaning: The tank should be cleaned regularly with water (no detergents) once a week during use. If you are operating the machine with the preheating function, clean every two weeks. Use decalcification agents (see EZCal below) to remove deposits from the fogging chamber (evaporation chamber). Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Replacements: The Hydro Stick is an advanced water maintenance system that ensures your humidifier's functionality while providing fresh humidification performance. It needs to be exchanged a year after it has first been used. The demineralization cartridge prevents the build up of mineral residues or white dust and should be replaced every 2-3 months. If the water you are using is very hard, it may be necessary to replace the cartridge more frequently.

Product Usage:
Please note: In order to maximize the performance it is recommended the unit be placed at least 2 feet off the floor to allow the mist the opportunity to evaporate before hitting the floor and to eliminate the carpeting or wood floor surrounding it from becoming damp.
The following situations could contribute to excessive white dust so are recommended to be avoided:
- Using water that has been treated by a water softening system could result in an increased incidence of white dust due to the excess sodium in the softened water. Therefore, it is recommended to use water that bypasses the system, bottled, or distilled water.
- Use of this product with a negative ionizer air purifier or air cleaner with an optional post ionizing function could contribute to an increased collection of dust on surfaces. If this occurs try operating this product without the negative ionizer air purifier or with the optional ionizing function on the air cleaner off.

Pluses:
- The humidifier is extremely quiet on the lowest setting and will satisfy the most noise sensitive person
- Has a built in humidistat which allows you to control the humidity level between 40 and 80%. This eliminates the possibility of overhumidifcation in the room, which can lead to mold growth. 50% humidification is recommended
- Dual spouts that enables you to direct mist in two separate desired directions
- Automatically shuts off when the tank is empty
- Sleek design
Minuses:
- Reservoir tank is 11 inches high, which makes it tough to fill in standard sinks or bath tubs
- Tank is hard to clean, fill, carry and place back because of its size and shape
- Awkward shape and heavy tank may be tough for the elderly or someone with arthritis to manage
- Because the water tank is a dark color, it’s a bit difficult to see when the water reservoir is close to or is empty
- Water level indicator light does not come on when the reservoir is close to being empty. If not warned early enough, you may leave the water tank at a low level that cannot humidify a room while sleeping or when out for the day
