How it Works: About Ultrasonic Technology: uses high-frequency vibration to generate a micro-fine mist. A fan blows the mist into the room where it immediately evaporates. Ultrasonic humidifiers consume very little power, are virtually silent and produce a fog-like mist.
Care of: Cleaning: The recommended cleaning intervals depend on the air and water quality, as well as operating times. Every two weeks the water tank and base should be cleaned and rinsed with water only. Only use the brush that is included to clean the membrane once a week. Change the water in the tank at least once a week if water is standing for more than a week.
Replacements: The Hydro Stick is an advanced water maintenance system that ensures your humidifier's functionality while providing fresh humidification performance. It needs to be exchanged a year after it has first been used. The demineralization cartridge has to be replaced every 2-3 months. If the water is very hard, it may be necessary to replace the cartridge earlier. White dust around the device is a sure sign that the cartridge needs replacing.
Product Usage: Please note: In order to maximize the performance it is recommended the unit be placed at least 2 feet off the floor to allow the mist the opportunity to evaporate before hitting the floor and to eliminate the carpeting or wood floor surrounding it from becoming damp.
The following situations could contribute to excessive white dust so are recommended to be avoided:
Using water that has been treated by a water softening system could result in an increased incidence of white dust due to the excess sodium in the softened water. Therefore, it is recommended to use water that bypasses the system, bottled, or distilled water.
Use of this product with a negative ionizer air purifier or air cleaner with an optional post ionizing function could contribute to an increased collection of dust on surfaces. If this occurs try operating this product without the negative ionizer air purifier or with the optional ionizing function on the air cleaner off.

Once again Air-O-Swiss has introduced another terrific humidifier to its line-up. This model includes variable mist settings, digital touch controls to set the desired humidity and displays the actual humidity. The auto/sleep functions plus the choice of warm or cool mist and the large room coverage completes the package.
Pluses:
The AOS U650 immediately delivers a powerful mist into the air and can humidify a good-sized room up to 650 square feet rather quickly if the conditions are right (such as having the door closed). Due the amount of mist it can disperse we always recommend placing the humidifier on a nightstand or stool at least 2 feet high to prevent the floor from getting soaked.
We find our Air-O-Swiss humidifiers to be almost completely silent and basically can’t be heard when it is placed across the room. Other added features for those who want the best humidifier while sleeping is its night-time display dimmer (for those sensitive to light) and sleep mode which will control the perfect nighttime humidity level.
Air-O-Swiss has constructed a compact, lightweight and easy-to-fill tank. It fills from the bottom and can fit in the majority of sinks and some deeper bathroom sinks (the tank is 9" high).
Want a humidifier that will keep constant comfort without much effort on your part? The AOS U650 not only allows you to choose your desired humidity level but with its built-in hygrostat the humidifier will automatically adjust the humidity output when conditions change within the room. Plus it conveniently displays the actual humidity right on the unit.

This is a robust humidifier with Swiss engineering and construction and will perform highly day in and day out. The AOS U650 and its manual U600 model are the only Air-O-Swiss humidifiers that come with a stainless steel heat sink instead of plastic surrounding the titanium transducer.
Due to its large room coverage and the Swiss engineering and construction, we consider the AOS U650 valuable for the money.
Minuses:
If you are humidifying one room, you will need to fill this humidifier up once per day, but if humidifying larger spaces fill-ups will be more frequent.
Cost of the humidifier and replacement cartridge and Hydro Stick is a bit more than the average humidifier but well worth the money.

This is certainly a durable, technologically advanced machine which will properly humidify a bedroom and bring relief to symptoms associated with dry air.
